تعتبر مشکلات المرور من المشکلات التى تهم المواطن العادى والأفراد بوجه عام ذلک أنه ينتج عنه تضييع الوقت والتلوث الهوائى والمائى بسبب عادم السيارات الذى يؤثر على الصحة العامة للأفراد ، وکان لاختيار الباحث لمنطقتى البحث التى تتمثل فى شارع صلاح سالم بمدينة طلخا الذى تصب فيه حرکة ثلاث مزلقانات قطار ( خط دمياط- الاسکندرية) بالإضافة لکبارى أخرى على ترعة الساحل ؛ لوجود مصانع السماد والکوکاکولا ومحطة الکهرباء الضخمة بالإضافة لسکان مدينة طلخا ومرور رکاب مراکز طلخا الذين لهم مصالح بمدينة المنصورة.
وقد اشتمل البحث على عدد من العناصر منها دراسة مدينة طلخا کمعبر مهم لمحافظات أخرى إلى مدينة المنصورة وباقى مراکز الدقهلية غرب فرع دمياط ، ودراسة الارتباط المرورى المکانى بين طلخا ومدينة المنصورة بعد افتتاح کوبرى طلخا عام 1951،وزادت أهمية هذا الارتباط بعد افتتاح مشروعات کثيرة منها جامعة المنصورة ومستشفياتها ومشروعات أخرى أشار الباحث إليها سلفاً ،ثم دراسة استخدام الأرض على جانبى شارع صلاح سالم وفى المنطقة المحيطة به واستنتاج أثرها على ازدحام الشارع ، وأيضا دراسة التغيرات فى الحرکة عبر ساعات اليوم من خلال دراسة قمم الازدحام المرورى منها من 3-4 مساءً ومن 5-6 مساءً .
وانتهى الباحث بدراسة موقف طلخا الجديد الذى تم افتتاحه ليحل جزء من مشکلة شارع صلاح سالم ، وناقش الباحث مميزاته ومثالبه بعد سؤال مستخدى هذا الموقف ، وخلص البحث بعدد من الاقتراحات التى تساعد فى حل مشکلة المرور منها :أنه ينبغى إنشاء کوبرى بديل لکوبرى طلخا القديم ، لحلول نهاية عمره الافتراضى عام1985 ، وينبغى أن يوجد معبران فى المنطقة نفسها ،أو کوبرى آخر بعد کوبرى قطار طنطا المنصورة ( على فرع دمياط)يمکن أن يتحمل مرور أتوبيسات مصنع طلخا للسماد وعمال محطة کهرباء طلخا ، کذلک ضرورة ترکيب عدادات لحصر عدد السيارات التى تمر من خلال معابر طلخا وذلک للتخطيط السليم للمراحل القادمة ؛ لتفادى هذا الازدحام المرورى الذى يمکن أن يسبب شلل فى الحرکة الاقتصادية والتجارية للسکان.
