This analysis is related to the feminist concept by focusing on the theoretical approaches of Chandra Talapade Mohanty, Gayatri Spivak, Uma Narayan, Sara Suleri, Lata Mani, Kumkum Sangari, Rajeswari Sunder Rajan and You-me Park. It exposes the humiliations of African women endure by both colonial forces and native cultural patriarchy. It led the community to chaos, corruption and instability in all the sections of life. Finally, the paper concludes that Nottage tries to show how broken women can rise fight even during the toughest times. The play ends by emphasizing that women’s great courage and great ingenuity are possible even when the world feels very dark.
